Confirmed - Ryan Johnston to join HC Lugano for the rest of the season

HC Lugano has confirmed a report by Hans Abrahamsson (Aftonbladet) that current Luleå HF-defenseman Ryan Johnston will join the Bianconeri for the remainder of the season.

The 26-year-old Canadian joined the Swedish team on a two-year contract last summer after two seasons in the organization of the Montreal Canadiens (ten NHL games, 87 AHL games). Before that, he played for the Colgate University Raiders in the NCAA for three years. He is expected to join Lugano on Friday.

In 36 appearances so far for Luleå, Johnston scored twice and assisted on nine goals.
