MEDICAL REPORT - Switzerland's Phil Baltisberger had to be stretchered off the ice in tonight's game against Russia in Toronto.

The 19-year-old defenseman, who plays for Guelph Storm in the Ontario Hockey League, took a blindside hit to the head/neck area by Anatoli Golyshev and was not able to get back up. He thus had to be stretchered off the ice with 11:54 left to play in the second period.

UPDATE As team manager Bruno Suri said to the Sport Information, Phil Baltisberger's injury doesn't seem to be too severe. Also his brother Chris wrote on Twitter: "My brother is ok". The incident will be reviewed by the IIHF Disciplinary Panel. - 29 December 2014, 7:49 AM
