Switzerland lost their quarterfinal game against Finland tonight 3-1. Ivana Wey scored the sole goal of the game for the Swiss.
Switzerland opened the score in the second minute of play, but Finland tied it only eight minutes later. Despite several power plays, the Swiss did not score again, were limited to 17 shots and thus lost the game against the Finns eventually.
It is the first time since 2019, Switzerland did not advance to the semifinals. This also means they will have to fight for their spot in Group A in a placement game on Saturday. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
