Women's League

After four years of university in the US, the defender is returning to her home country to suit up in the PostFinance Women's League.

As EV Zug announces, they have signed Nicole Vallario for the 2025-26 season. She joins them from the St. Paul-based University of St. Thomas, where she spent the last four years playing NCAA-hockey.

Vallario spent her junior time with HC Lugano, suiting up for the Ladies Team Lugano during the 2015-16 season, at the age of 14, already. Before her journey overseas, she also suited up for the Thurgau Indien Ladies.

"I chose the EVZ because the organization represents women's ice hockey with passion and professionalism", the 23-year-old states. "My goals in Zug are to develop myself athletically and personally, to be successful with the team, and to be able to show exciting games to the fans."

There is a chance Vallario might not end up playing for her new team. She has signed up for the 2025 PWHL draft, and if she were to be selected, she would remain in North America.
