An unforgettable day with the national team

A very special dream came true for Arjen and Stella: they were able to spend a whole day with the Swiss national ice hockey team. In a competition organized by Ochsner Hockey together with the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation, they won the exclusive prize out of over 400 participants! 

Starting in the Swiss Arena Kloten 

The adventure began early in the morning at the Swiss Arena in Kloten, where the national team was practicing. Arjen and Stella had exclusive seats on the sidelines and were able to watch the stars up close during the intensive training session.  

After the ice training, it was straight on to an off-ice session in the nearby forest. Under the close supervision of Arjen and Stella, the national team completed various exercises on stability, coordination, mobility, breathing and endurance. Among the trees and fresh air, the training was a real nature experience - and offered exciting insights into the varied preparation of a professional team. 

After so much activity, it was time for a well-deserved break. Arjen, Stella and their parents fortified themselves with burgers and salads at lunch in the “Hans im Glück” restaurant. They laughed and chatted in a relaxed atmosphere, and, of course, talked about ice hockey. 

Welcome by head coach Patrick Fischer 

A special highlight awaited in the early afternoon: national team coach Patrick Fischer personally took the time to welcome Arjen and Stella and introduced them to his team. An absolute goosebump moment for the two young guests. 

Then it was on to Herisau in the team bus - a unique feeling for Arjen and Stella to travel together with the stars. 

Once they arrived in Herisau, Arjen and Stella were able to get a real taste of the ice hockey atmosphere, right on the players' bench during the warm-up. They saw at close quarters how the national team players prepared for the match. Pulsating music, concentrated faces, the scratching of the skates – pure emotion! 

A day that will last forever 

The crowning glory was the match visit to the VIP area. Here, Arjen and Stella not only enjoyed the best view of the game but also delicious food and exciting entertainment. When the Swiss team finally won, the joy was immense.  

Arjen and Stella experienced a day full of highlights, emotions and unforgettable encounters. They were in the thick of it instead of just being there, as part of the national team for a day.
