The Swiss men's team for the hockey tournament of the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 is very similar to the roster for the past World Championship, which won a silver medal in Stockholm. For the first time since 2014, NHL players will compete on the Olympic stage, and Switzerland will have ten of them. Overall, the 25 nominated Swiss national players have a combined total of 1,759 international appearances and 13 Olympic participations to their credit.

Goalkeepers Reto Berra and Leonardo Genoni are about to make their third Olympic appearance. For Defenders Michael Fora, Roman Josi, Christian Marti, and forwards Sven Andrighetto, Christoph Bertschy, Denis Malgin, Nino Niederreiter, Pius Suter, and Calvin Thürkauf, this will be their second Olympic appearance. Finally, Goalie Akira Schmid, defenders Tim Berni, Andrea Glauser, Dean Kukan, Janis Moser, and Jonas Siegenthaler, and forwards Kevin Fiala, Nico Hischier, Ken Jäger, Simon Knak, Philipp Kurashev, Timo Meier, Damien Riat, and Sandro Schmid will be making their Olympic debut.

"The decision on who would make it into the Olympic team was anything but easy for us in the coaching staff, as we have so many outstanding players. We are convinced that we have achieved a balanced mix, a team that combines experience, physical robustness, intensity, and talent," states head coach Patrick Fischer.

Switzerland will face France in its first group match at 12:10 p.m. on February 12. This will be followed by a game against Canada at 9:10 p.m. on February 13, before the final group game against Czechia is scheduled for 12:10 p.m. on February 15.

As for the women's roster, 21 out of the 23 selected players were already part of the roster for the past World Championship.

Among the most experienced Olympians in head coach Colin Muller's squad are Alina Müller and captain Lara Stalder, who will be competing in their fourth Olympic Games. Goaltender Andrea Brändli and defenders Shannon Sigrist and Stefanie Wetli are in the Olympic squad for the third time. Saskia Maurer, Lara Christen, Nicole Vallario, Rahel Enzler, Sinja Leemann, Lena-Marie Lutz, Alina Marti, Kaleigh Quennec, Noemi Ryhner, and Laura Zimmermann are participating in the Olympic Games for the second time. Goaltender Monja Wagner, defenders Alessia Baechler, Annic Büchi, and Laure Mériguet, and forwards Leoni Balzer, Naemi Herzig, Vanessa Schaefer, and Ivana Wey are all set to make their Olympic debut.

“We have a very balanced team with a lot of international experience and a strong mix of routine and dynamism. Many players are familiar with the demands of Olympic-level competition and know what it takes to succeed on this stage," says head coach Colin Muller on the roster.

The Swiss women's Olympic tournament begins on February 6 at 2:40 p.m. against Czechia. This will be followed by games against Canada on February 7 at 9:10 p.m., the USA on February 9 at 8:10 p.m., and Finland on February 10 at 9:10 p.m.
