With the selection of Alina Müller, Ralph Stöckli, Switzerland's chef de mission, wanted to bring forward the resilience and strength shown by the women's national team: "The women's ice hockey team certainly made history by winning the bronze medal. The players responded strongly to their difficult start and missing the opening ceremony due to illness, and never let up in their games. Bronze is a well-deserved reward."
Müller scored the game-winning goal in overtime of the bronze medal game against Sweden and was voted to be part of the All-Star Team of the hockey tournament by the accredited media. The closing ceremony will be held tonight at the Verona Arena.
