As Elliotte Friedman (Sportsnet) writes on X, the Vegas Golden Knights did not extend a qualifying offer to restricted free agent Akira Schmid, who they recently acquired on a trade from the New Jersey Devils. The journalist, however, also reports that there are indications that he is still expected to sign a new deal with them.
