Akira Schmid is headed to the Vegas Golden Knights

The New Jersey Devils traded Akira Schmid and Alexander Holtz to the Vegas Golden Knights in exchange for Paul Cotter and a 2025 third-round pick. Schmid thus leaves New Jersey after three seasons.

Schmid, just like Janis Moser, is a pending RFA and has thus yet to be signed. The 24-year-old goaltender appeared in 19 games for the Devils last season and also suited up in 23 games for their AHL affiliate, the Utica Comets.
