Akira Schmid was traded to the Florida Panthers on June 29. He is currently a restricted free agent and thus has to negotiate his new contract with the Panthers first.
If it comes to the actual arbitration process, a neutral party will decide on the new contract details after a hearing. Those hearings are scheduled to take place between July 20 and August 1. The exact dates are not yet known. It remains to be seen whether Schmid and the Panthers will agree on the contract details before the hearing.
The 26-year-old appeared in 34 regular-season games for the Vegas Golden Knights last season, posting a .893 save percentage. While he was part of the team that qualified for the Stanley Cup Final, he did not play in the postseason.
