Andres Ambühl was also once again elected as the "Most Popular Player". It is the ninth and now last time in his career. He received one of the special awards for his long and successful career. He won three silver medals at the World Championships, six National League titles and holds several records at the national and international level.
Ambühl also received an additional honor: the number 10 he wore during his games for the Swiss national team will be retired. It's the first time in the history of the Swiss Ice Hockey Federation that this has been done.
As for the other categories, Austin Czarnik (SC Bern) took home the trophy for "MVP Regular Season National League". The ZSC Lions' Sven Andrighetto was named the "MVP Playoffs National League". EV Zug's Ludvig Johnson, recently drafted by the Utah Mammoth, was awarded the "Youngster of the Year" trophy.
Stéphane Charlin took home the «Goaltender of the Year National League» for his outstanding last season with the SCL Tigers, and Alina Müller once again took home the "Women of the Year" award. It is her fifth time.
SC Bern's Estelle Duvin was honored as the "MVP PostFinance Women’s League", Jakob Stukel of EHC Basel was named "MVP Sky Swiss League", and Arnaud Schnegg (HC Franches-Montagnes) was selected as the "MVP MyHockey League". As for the "Hockey Award", it went to the Men's national team for another successful campaign at the World Championship.
The second "Special Award" of the night went to Marcel Kull. The 72-year-old coached HC Davos' goaltenders from 1999 to 2021, among them Jonas Hiller, Leonardo Genoni, Reto Berra, and Lars Weibel.
