They will thus replace HC Fribourg-Gottéron as the second Swiss team at the Spengler Cup. The Dragons won the tournament in 2024 and were thus invited back to the 2025 edition of the Spengler Cup.

It will be the first participation at the prestigious tournament for the SCL Tigers. According to Dieter Aeschimann, CEO of Langnau, they were more than happy to accept the invitation: "The invitation to this traditional tournament fills us with great pride and is a wonderful recognition of the work of the entire organization and the passion of our fans. We are particularly pleased to represent the Emmental and Entlebuch regions in Davos."
