"EHC Visp Sport AG’s joining the Academy marks the realization of a shared vision for our canton" Patricia Reber-Parvex, president of the Valais Hockey Federation, states. "This sends a strong signal for the future of Valais ice hockey: together, we are stronger in nurturing our talent and guiding them to the top of the national scene."
The Academy started in 2025, with the majority of the clubs from the Valais, like HC Sierre, HC Valais-Chablais, and HC Monthey-Chablais-Portes du Soleil. Visp now becoming part of it too fulfills the original goal of the project: the creation of a unified, high-performance training structure in Valais.
"For us, this step is exactly the right one. We are convinced that there is great potential in Valais and want to strategically pool our resources across the entire canton. Our shared goal is to create conditions that offer our young Valais talents the best possible prospects. The developments of recent years—especially the championship wins in the former U20 Top category—show that we are on the right track", a shared statement from Visp's president, Stefan Volken, their CEO Sébastien Pico, and their team manager, Daniele Margithola, reads.
