Earlier today, EHC Visp announced two new additions to their roster for the coming season. Nico Lehmann has signed a one-year deal with the Swiss League champion, coming over from EHC Winterthur. Erik Liljequist is also joining, he was part of IF Björklöven (HockeyAllsvenskan) this past season, suiting up for their U20 squad.
"Nico is a player who brings solid qualities to both sides of the game, a strong work ethic, and the character we are looking for in our locker room", Visp's team manager Daniele Margithola comments on his new forward. "His versatility and game intelligence make him a valuable asset to our structure."
Lehmann, 24, spent his latter youth years within EHC Kloten's organization, played to HC Thurgau from 2021 to 2024, and eventually joined Winterthur last summer.
Liljequist, for his part, also spent most of his junior time with Kloten. A year ago, he moved to Umeå to play for Björklöven's U20, and now is returning to Switzerland.
"Erik is a very promising goalkeeper with excellent potential for development", Margithola states regarding the 18-year-old. "He already has a solid technical foundation, a good understanding of the game, and a calm style. We believe that in a structured and demanding environment like ours, he will be able to progress quickly."
