"It is a difficult decision. We are losing a player whom I like very much, both personally and professionally. I traveled abroad to recruit him. Olden has contributed enormously to HCC, both on and off the ice," Loïc Burkhalter, team manager of HC La Chaux-de-Fonds, said.
Initially, the Swiss League team was not keen on releasing him, but "after discussions with the player and his agent, an agreement was finally reached to allow him to seize this important opportunity for his future career."
"During the 15 years I played outside Norway, this is the first time I have truly felt at home. This opportunity was something I couldn't turn down, but leaving the club is very emotional for me. [...] My seasons in La Chaux-de-Fonds were the best of my entire career because I truly felt at home," Sondre Olden said.
Olden played for HC La Chaux-de Fonds for the past four and a half seasons. This season, he recorded five goals and two assists in 13 games.
