Michael Tobler to become the new team manager of EHC Olten

Over the coming months, Michael Tobler will gradually transition into his new role and, by October 1, 2026, at the latest, will assume the position of sports director at the club on a full-time basis with a permanent contract. This also marks the dissolution of the interim sports committee, which had been in place since the departure of former sports director Thomas Roost.

Tobler has been chosen among 25 candidates thanks to his expertise, knowledge of the club, and his network: “As a long-time staff member, Michael Tobler knows exactly how EHC Olten works. [...] He has convinced us in several discussions that he brings the right mix of a deep understanding of the club’s DNA and his own new ideas that align with our strategy," states the chairman of the board, Marc Thommen.

The 40-year-old has served as EHC Olten's goalie coach since 2017; prior to that, he played as a goalie for the team in Olten for four years.
