The 32-year-old defenseman will work outside of hockey from here on out and will leave the team effective immediately.
Mathieu Maret signed a four-year deal with HC Sierre in 2022. He would thus have had two years left on his contract with the Swiss League team, but they accepted his decision and releases him from his contract.
Maret played for HC Sierre, HC Davos, HC Ajoie, HCV Martigny, HC Fribourg-Gottéron, and SC Langenthal throughout his career. Last season, he recorded two goals and 14 assists in 45 games for Sierre.
