Swiss League

The Swiss League team has extended the contracts of two of its youngsters for another season.

HC Sierre

Ryan Mazzola will also suit up for HC Sierre next season. The 22-year-old defenseman is a product of HC Lugano's organization and has been playing in the Valais since 2024.

"Ryan is a versatile young defenseman who continues to improve with each passing season. Thanks to his outstanding skating skills, he is gaining confidence and having an increasing impact on the game,” says Eric Castonguay, assistant coach and assistant team manager at HC Sierre, praising the defenseman's development.

Swiss Canadian dual citizen Damien Prevate will also stay another season with Sierre. The 21-year-old forward joined Sierre at the beginning of 2025 from the GDT Bellinzona Snakes. "Damien is a passionate and determined player who brings a lot of energy to the team and constantly makes life difficult for his opponents," Castonguay states.
