As team manager Nicola Pini tells "Ticinonews", HC Lugano's Janick Steinmann has declared his interest in renewing the cooperation.

A few weeks before the start of the season, the GDT Bellinzona Snakes announces that HC Lugano will resume its collaboration. “We had a meeting with HCL's team manager Janick Steinmann, who explained to us that it is important for him to have a Swiss League team "20 minutes" from Lugano, to which he can send players if necessary,” Pini told "Ticinonews".

From the interview with Pini, it is not clear what the partnership entails exactly, but the main objective is, first of all, to work in agreement: “This year, we want to start by working well together, and then perhaps progress in our collaboration in the future,” explains the team manager of the Snakes.

In addition to the return of HC Lugano, the GDT Bellinzona Snakes are collaborating with several other clubs: HC Ambrì-Piotta, EHC Biel-Bienne, SC Bern, HC Fribourg-Gottéron, EHC Visp, and HC La Chaux-de-Fonds. Also interested in a partnership, but too late, was Lausanne HC: “We had to put together a real ‘puzzle’ to make everything fit, even going so far as to say no to a club like Lausanne, which arrived a little late," states Pini.
