EHC Basel extends the contracts of three of their players

Bircher and Zubler have both agreed to one-year deals. Bachofner, for his part, has signed a two-year contract with EHC Basel. Basel's team manager, Kevin Schläpfer, had this to say about the new deals: "All three are important elements of our team. Bachofner [...] is especially important in the physical area, Zubler is calm, composed and yet very efficient [..], and Bircher is one of the best defensive defenseman in the league [...]."

Bircher recorded two goals and nine assists in 42 regular-season games for Basel last season. Zubler, for his part, put up two goals and 18 assists in 45 games. Bachofner appeared in 44 regular-season games for Basel, recording four goals and eight assists.
