The SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers have announced an extension to Jacob Larsson's contract. Initially valid until 2026, it will now last for an extra two years. "Jacob makes both our defense and offense better", team manager Claudio Cadonau notes. "He is an excellent skater with a keen understanding of the game.
Larsson's stint with the Lakers did not really start very positively, as he missed most of the first season due to a rib injury. Nonetheless, the Swede seems content. "I have had a great time with the Lakers so far. Even when I was barely able to play last year, I always felt the support of the team and the entire organization. I am very happy that we can continue on the path we have chosen together", he is cited in the press release.
Averaging over 22 minutes per game, the 28-year-old is the most-used Laker so far this season, and the only one above 20. In terms of points, the defenseman is fifth on the team, with 14 in total (six goals, eight assists).
