The young defender will play for the next two seasons in Rapperswil-Jona.

GCK Lions

As of the 2026-27 season, Daniil Ustinkov will move to the other end of Lake Zurich to suit up for the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers. The 19-year-old Swiss-Russian dual citizen went through the organization of the Lions, debuting in the National League at 16. Ever since, he has been splitting time between the ZSC Lions and their partner team in the Swiss League, the GCK Lions.

“Daniil brings great qualities to the game, both with and without the puck, and stands out for his skating ability. Both of these qualities fit very well with our playing system. He is also very physically robust for his age,” states Lakers' team manager Claudio Cadonau.

This season, Ustinkov appeared in five games for the ZSC Lions and in 13 games for the GCK Lions, collecting one goal and seven assists.
