The era of the 64-year-old will end on April 30, 2026. Jürg Fuhrer will take over as CEO of the Bears on May 1.

Marc Lüthi

SC Bern

After 28 years, Marc Lüthi will leave SC Bern's back office. He will, however, not only step down from his position as CEO, he will also sell all his shares.

"All in all, it was an amazing time with many highs, but also some lows. That's just part of sport. Despite everything, I wouldn't want to have missed a single day and will always have fond memories of this time. After such a long time, it feels right for me to pass on the baton," Lüthi said.

He will be replaced by Jürg Fuhrer who has been part of SC Bern's board since 2024. He has been responsible for "future, gastronomy, and finances."

He has built one of "the leading import and logistics companies in the Swiss pet market." His company has over 200 employes. As per the end of last week, he has handed in his notice.

"A comprehensible structure, transparent decisions, and clear
responsibilities—in good times and bad. For me, these are key
success factors," Jürg Fuhrer says the future CEO of the Bears. "Together, with a lot of Bernese passion, we want to shape the future of SCB and meet the expectations of our fans, partners, and sponsors."
