As Ramon Untersander is no longer part of the Bears, the team had to select a new captain for the 2026-27 season.

Untersander is succeeded by Waltteri Merelä. He has been part of the leadership team for the past two seasons but has now been promoted to captain. He will play his first game as the new captain of SC Bern this week against EHC Biel.
He will be assisted by Benjamin Baumgartner, Alain Graf, and Marc Marchon. Marchon was already part of the leadership team last season, but the other two players will take on a new duty this season.
