Player and club have agreed to terminate their contract by mutual consent. It would have lasted until next spring. Instead, the Finn is headed to another LHC.

Sami Niku has been released from his contract with Lausanne HC. This decision was made in mutual agreement between player and club. As is common courtesy, the Lions thank the Finn in their press release for his dedication and professionalism and wish him the best.

Niku had joined Lausanne last summer after a season with EHC Kloten. In 56 games for the National League club, the defenseman recorded eight goals and 19 assists.

As reported by "Expressen" two days ago and now confirmed by the club,  the 29-year-old will instead join another LHC, one in Sweden however - Linköping. His new contract is valid until 2028.
