The National League is one step closer to a possible Salary Cap. As "SRF"'s Philipp Burkhardt reports, the Council of States has just accepted a motion by Mitte-council member Fabio Regazzi that would allow clubs to implement an agreement about a cap. It would be part of the changes to the Cartel Act.

It is argued that excessively rising salary costs are a problem in professional sports, therefore the introduction of a "Financial Fairplay system" should be allowed. This would limit the players' gross wages.

The ZSC Lions and SC Bern are reported to be the only National League clubs opposed to this.

More information about the matter can be found in Burkhardt's thread.
