National League

PostFinance is the main sponsor of the National League as well as the Women's League. To set an example for equality, they will introduce a new criterion for National League teams as of next season.

"[...] As a sponsor, we want to set an example for equality/equal opportunities. From the 2025/26 season onwards, we will therefore only support those clubs with a direct commitment that have both an NL and a Postfinance Women's League team and thus share our basic stance on equality," Rinaldo Tibolla, media spokesperson of PostFinance, tells Klaus Zaugg (article published in the "Oltner Tagblatt").

PostFinance gives each team about CHF 100,000 for the print of their logo on the teams' jerseys. As of next season, only teams which also support Women's League teams will receive that amount from the bank. Whether this new criterion would also be fulfilled if the National League team were to support a team in a lower-tier league, especially considering that a new team cannot directly enter the Women's League, was not disclosed when brought up by Zaugg.

The SCL Tigers would, for example, not be able to create a new team as the costs would surpass the amount of money the Tigers receive from the PostFinance. "We have just expanded our infrastructure and are simply not in a position to set up a women's section," CEO Dieter Aeschimann tells Zaugg. The Tigers would thus not receive any money from the PostFinance as of next season.
