The two parties parted ways a year ago, but the 58-year-old Finn was still on EHC Biel's payroll.
Petri Matikainen and EHC Biel have mutually agreed to dissolve their working agreement, which would have remained in place until April 30, 2025. Both parties agreed not to disclose more details about the settlement.
Matikainen only served as the head coach of EHC Biel for a bit more than half a season. The Finn previously had worked in the ICEHL as head coach of EC-KAC.
