Earlier today, EV Zug announced the signing of Mathieu Croce. The netminder joins them on a contract valid for the 2026-27 season, including an option to extend it for another year. Currently a member of HC Thurgau, Croce has one National League game to his name so far, with HC Davos during the 2020-21 season.
In his youth, Croce spent time with Genève-Servette HC's juniors before moving to Davos in 2018. While part of them, he occasionally suited up for the HCB Ticino Rockets in the Swiss League. In 2023, a stint in Finland followed, where he played for Hermes (Mesits) and Kärpät's U20. The summer afterwards, he joined his current employer, Thurgau.
So far this season, the 22-year-old has suited up eleven times, posting a .939 save percentage and allowing an average of 1.73 goals per game.
