As Blick writes, the Swede has expressed his wish to leave at the end of the current season despite having one more year left in his contract.

HC Fribourg-Gottéron might have to deal with the early departure of one of its most prolific scorers of the past years. Neither the club nor the agent of Lucas Wallmark were willing to comment on the rumor that the 30-year-old Swedish forward has asked to leave at the end of the current season. Wallmark has been a Dragon since 2023.
This season, Wallmark missed some games due to injuries, appearing in only 31 games and collecting 21 points.
