According to "Blick"'s Grégory Beaud, several sources told him a deal had already been made between EHC Biel and Lias Andersson. However, Martin Steinegger denies the report: "No, no. Nothing has been signed. It's, however, true that it's a profile that interests me.”
Lias Andersson was drafted by the New York Rangers in the first round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He played over 100 NHL games and over 200 AHL games throughout his career. This past season, he recorded 21 goals and 24 assists in 53 games for the Laval Rockets, the Habs' AHL affiliate.
In other news, EHC Biel revealed that their "Donatoren" were able to announce a record number of sold "Donatoren"-packages at their general assembly (527). Thus, they could hand EHC Biel a sum of CHF 4.74 million - also a record.
