"After the injury of Lawrence Pilut, we were looking for a defenseman to complete our roster," John Fust, team manager of Lausanne HC said about the signing. "Gavin Bayreuther is an experienced player and a real leader of men. We also wanted a physical player who could also participate in the offence."
Bayreuther played his entire career in the USA. He was never drafted but played both in the NHL and the AHL, suiting up for the Dallas Stars, the Columbus Blue Jackets, and their AHL affiliates. Last season, he appeared in 17 games for the Texas Stars, recording seven assists. He missed parts of the season due to an ankle injury.
