Lars Leuenberger was announced as Patrick Emond's replacement recently, but it was already clear that he would only serve as a head coach until the end of the season.

As Gerd Zenhäusern, team manager of HC Fribourg-Gottéron, confirmed to MySports last night, Lars Leuenberger will, however, stay with the Dragons beyond this season and serve as Roger Rönnberg's assistant coach as of the 2025-26 season.

Leuenberger coached EHC Olten until January 2024 when he was relieved of his duties and replaced by Gary Sheehan. He coached the Dragons yesterday for the first time. The team won 1-2 in regulation.
