HCFG's Elijah Neuenschwander to suit up for HC Thurgau this season

For the upcoming season, HC Fribourg-Gottéron will mainly count on Ludovic Waeber and Loïc Galley as their goaltending duo, while Elijah Neuenschwander will be loaned to HC Thurgau. Nonetheless, as team manager Gerd Zenhäusern explains, "Elijah will be competing with the other two goaltenders. The best one will play”, thus not ruling out the possibility of recalling him from the Swiss League. 

The 19-year-old goalie was drafted 104th overall by the Ducks last year, and according to "La Liberté", he could have joined their organization this upcoming season, but there were uncertainties around this option: “It wasn’t clear which league he would have played in. The prospect of getting playing time in the Swiss League and being integrated into our team tipped the scales,” concludes Zenhäusern.

This past season, Neuenschwander mainly suited up for EHC Chur in the Swiss League, averaging a save percentage of .9.13 in 14 games.
