Killian Mottet's time in Fribourg appears to be getting nearer and nearer to the end, as team manager Gerd Zenhäusern confirms: “With the turn we want to take, it's hard to imagine finding a role for Killian in our team.” Zenhäusern, however, does not rule out any option: “I can't say today that he'll never play for HCFG again. But it's true that we're looking for a solution.” As "La Liberté" reports, three or four clubs have shown interest in the 34-year-old forward.
Mottet's agent, Gaëtan Voisard, confirms to "Blick" the state of the situation: "We're waiting to hear from the club to see how the situation develops. But it now seems clear: HC Fribourg-Gottéron no longer wants Killian." To "La Liberté", Voisard then adds: "Despite a drop in playing time, Killian has never expressed the wish to leave. It's a unilateral decision by the club. So it's up to them to come to us with a solution. Breach of contract, loan: there are several options."
Mottet is signed through the 2026-27 season, and in this past championship, he scored two goals and put up six assists in 55 games, the lowest number of points since his debut season in 2009-10.
