HC Ambrì-Piotta has extended the expiring contract of home-grown player Aris Häfliger. The 21-year-old defender’s new contract runs until the end of the 2029-30 season and includes a club option for a further year. Last season, he played for EHC Basel in the Swiss League as well as for the U21 squad of the Biancoblù.
Goalkeeper Nassim Jaafri-Hayani is also staying with the Leventina side. As the club has announced, the option included in the 20-year-old’s contract has been exercised. This prolongs his contract by a further year.
In addition, 18-year-old forward Matěj Pekař is returning to Leventina, having played in the HCAP youth system until 2024. Pekař most recently spent two years playing in the WHL for the Seattle Thunderbirds and has now been awarded a contract valid until 2031. As HCAP states, Pekař will be eligible for a Swiss licence from the 2028-29 season onwards, provided he plays two full seasons in the Swiss league.
