"I am happy, honored, and very motivated to work for Hockey Club Lugano. It is an exciting challenge and an important step in my professional growth," Janick Steinmann said in a statement by HC Lugano. "The club is going through a difficult season. For this reason, my first task will be to get to know everyone within the organization to gain a more complete understanding."
Steinmann served as the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers' team manager for the past six years. The Lakers and the 38-year-old have agreed to part ways effective immediately to ensure that both parties have enough time to prepare for the next season. CEO Markus Bütler will take over the team manager duties until a replacement for Steinmann has been found.
