HC Ajoie adds two players to its roster and announces one departure

HC Ajoie has agreed to terms with forwards Deniss Smirnovs and Jeremi Gerber. Both players have received a two-year contract from the National League team. "Those two additions are part of HC Ajoie’s commitment to continuing to build a competitive team capable of taking its game to the next level in the coming seasons," Julien Vauclar, team manager, said. 

Deniss Smirnovs was under contract with EHC Kloten for the past three seasons. The 27-year-old Latvian, who has a Swiss players' license, recorded eight points (two goals) in 42 regular-season games. He was also part of Latvia's team for the World Championship (nine points in eight games). 

JeremI Gerber joins Ajoie from HC Fribourg-Gottéron. Several weeks ago, Gerber won the National League title with the Dragons. The 26-year-old contributed 13 points (six goals) in 62 games to HCFG's run to the title. 

Furthermore, Kevin Bozon's contract will not be extended. The 30-year-old French forward has been playing for the Ajoulots since 2022. This past season, he recorded two assists in 35 games.
