As anticipated by Klaus Zaugg ("Watson") earlier today, the 22-year-old defenseman has signed a contract extension with the Grenats.

Giancarlo Chanton has agreed to a three-year contract with Genève-Servette HC, valid until the end of the 2028-29 season. Other teams had also shown interest in the young defenseman, among them SC Bern.
Chanton had played junior hockey for EHC Basel, the SCL Tigers, the Niagara IceDogs before joining the Grenats in 2021. This season, he has recorded two goals and one assist in 21 games.
