The 29-year-old goaltender and Genève-Servette HC parted ways in mid-June of 2025.

Gauthier Descloux has confirmed in La Télé's "Les Puckalistes" that he will not return to professional hockey. The goaltender played his last game in the Champions Hockey League in 2024 and then missed the entirety of the 2024-25 season.

Descloux played junior hockey for several teams before joining Genève-Servette HC in the 2012-13 season. He has only ever been under contract with the Greants at the professional level during his career, but got to suit up, albeit on a loan basis, for HC Ambrì-Piotta, HC Ajoie, Red Ice Martigny (now HCV Martigny), and the HCB Ticino Rockets (now the GDT Bellinzona Snakes).
