Extension with the Lakers for Lawrence Pilut

The SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers have announced a contract extension for Lawrence Pilut. Part of them since September, the defender will stay on board until 2027. He missed most of the season due to a shoulder injury, but was able to make his comeback on January 27.

"I am really looking forward to another year with the Rappi family", the Swedish-American notes. "I am very happy with everyone on the team and staff; they have helped me get back to my old form on the ice. I am confident that there are many positive things ahead for the Lakers, and I am excited to be a part of it."

Team manager Claudio Cadonau also has some words to share about Pilut. "It was a tough blow for Lawrence, especially since he had already missed the entire 2024/25 season due to injury", he notes in regards to the defenseman's absence. "However, I and the entire staff were hugely impressed by how he dealt with this situation. Not only did he start working hard again immediately after the operation, but despite his injury, he was always there for the team with his positive attitude. That is why it quickly became clear to us that we would exercise the option we had on Pilut."
