EHC Kloten adds Dominik Schlumpf, Nicolas Steiner out for a long time

The National League team has to make do without Steiner for several months. he 35-year-old suffered a torn Achilles tendon and underwent successful surgery. “I spoke with Nicholas on the phone right after the surgery, and it was great to hear how positive and motivated he already is as he looks ahead,” says EHCK team manager Ricardo Schödler. 

Kloten has already found a replacement for Steiner and has agreed to terms with Dominik Schlumpf. The defenseman played almost twelve seasons for EV Zug and did not receive a new contract from the team last spring. He won two championship titles with EV Zug (2021, 2022).

Moreover, three of their junior players will try their luck abroad: Gian Keller, Mike Cuesta, and Vito Thoma. Keller was drafted by the Armada de Blainville-Boisbriand in the CHL Import Draft. Cuesta will play for the Brooks Bandits in the CHL and Thoma will join the Växjö Lakers' organization.
