Earlier today, EHC Biel announced the signing of Marcus Sylvegård. He was previously part of the Växjö Lakers, who just recently got eliminated from the SHL playoffs. In Biel, the 25-year-old has put his name under a contract valid until 2027.
Sylvegård spent most of his career thus far with the Malmö Redhawks, growing up in their youth department and making it to the main squad. During his late teenage years, he was occasionally HockeyAllsvenskan-teams as well. In 2019, Sylvegård moved to the Växjö Lakers (for the first time), only to return to Malmö two years later. Another two years later, he was back with Växjö again. Then, last summer, he went overseas to join the St Louis Blues, but was assigned to their AHL-team. In January, he eventually crossed the Atlantic once again and joined the Lakers for a third time.
Overall, the Swede has suited up 379 times in the SHL, recording 78 goals and 95 assists. While overseas, he made 35 AHL-games, putting up ten goals and eleven assists.
