EHC Biel looking for a longer-term commitment

Two days ago, EHC Biel released Martin Filander from his duties. The search for a new person behind the bench is ongoing. "From the management's point of view, we would prefer someone to come in until the end of the season, and then we will see", team manager Martin Steinegger tells the "Journal du Jura". " But good coaches aren't necessarily attracted to this type of short-term assignment."

"Admittedly, there is an opportunity, but it is difficult to transform a team profoundly in eleven games", Steinegger continues. "The risk of losing out discourages many. We are therefore leaning towards a commitment beyond this season."

What name will ultimately lead Biel into the rest of the season and possibly beyond remains to be seen. The "Journal du Jura" names several options, such as Christian Dubé, Luca Cereda, Jussi Tapola, and Patrick Emond.
