HC Lugano has announced an extension for Lorenzo Canonica. Instead of 2027, the 22-year-old forward's contract is now set to expire in 2029. He has been (back) with the Bianconeri since 2023.

"Lollo Canonica has developed into a very solid two-way forward and is an important part of our puzzle", team manager Janick Steinmann states. "His work ethic, personality, and playing style fit perfectly with our new philosophy and culture. I am very happy to have him on board for the coming seasons."

Growing up in Lugano's organization, Canonica made his National League debut on November 2, 2019, as a 16-year-old. The following season, he headed to the QMJHL and eventually returned to the Ticino in 2023.

So far this season, Canonica has put up 13 goals and seven assists in 40 games.
