Starting next summer, the young forward will embark on a three-year quest to hunt for goals and glory alongside his dragonic comrades.

Leaving his nesting place within the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers, Jonas Taibel is set to join HC Fribourg-Gottéron for the coming three seasons. It will be the 21-year-old's first time with another National League squad, albeit not his first stint away from the Lakers. Between 2021 to 2023, he ran with the OMJHL's Moncton Wildcats.

"We are proud to have signed one of the greatest talents in Swiss hockey for Fribourg-Gottéron", the Dragon's manager, Gerd Zenhäusern, notes. "We want to develop Jonas Taibel in a targeted manner. As an important player in the Swiss junior national teams- and even captain in some cases - he embodies the modern, versatile forward who is ready to take the next step."

In 93 National League games so far, Taibel has recorded five goals and 16 assists. Last season, he debuted in the Swiss men's national team, collecting two assists in five appearances.
