After twelve seasons with EV Zug, Dominik Schlumpf will leave the Bulls. The defender arrived in Zug in November 2014 through a trade with HC Lugano. "Dominik has made an enormous contribution to EVZ. I can still clearly remember the deal when we brought him to Zug in 2014. It was a transfer that has more than paid off," states team manager Reto Kläy.
Whether Schlumpf will join another club or retire remains to be seen. In the case he chose retirement, his jersey would hang in the rafters of the OYM hall, having fulfilled four criteria for receiving this honor, namely spending 10 years with EV Zug’s first team, being a Swiss champion with EVZ, appearing in at least 50 games for the national team, and ending his professional career in Zug.
This season, Schlumpf collected two assists in 33 championship games and two assists in ten appearances in the Champions Hockey League.
