After spending his entire career in the USA so far, Sonny Milano has decided to bring his services to Switzerland, specifically to Bern. The 29-year-old forward joins the Bears from the organization of the Washington Capitals. "Sonny Milano is a technically gifted and creative winger whose skills will give our attacking play an extra boost," explains Martin Plüss.
Milano is the second import acquisition of SC Bern for the next season, after the signing of Canadian defender Ian Mitchell. As of today, the Bears have seven imports under contract.
Last season, Milano suited up 31 times for the Capitals, collecting eight points. He also played for their AHL affiliate, the Hershey Bears, putting up 14 points in 18 appearances. Overall, he played in more than 350 NHL games and 200 AHL games, winning an AHL championship in 2016.
