The 23-year-old Canadian forward and the two clubs have reached a mutual agreement for an immediate transfer.

For the remainder of the 2025-26 season, Cole Cormier will be loaned to HC Ajoie, which will then take over HC Lugano's contract until 2027. Cormier, who holds a Swiss player's license, will join his new team next week.
The forward was not in Lugano's plans at the moment: in the past two weeks, Cormier suited up for HC Sierre in the Swiss League via a B-license, collecting four points in five games.
