Back from Sweden - Gian Meier to join the Tigers next summer

A product of the ZSC Lions' organization, Gian Meier left the country to continue his development in Sweden. For the last year and a bit, he has been a member of Frölunda HC's youth department. The coming summer, he is set to join the SCL Tigers on a contract valid until 2028.

Meier was called up to play for Frölunda HC's men's team thrice last season. The rest of it was spent with their U20.

"Gian Meier brings a combination of size, strength in one-on-one situations, puck control, and vision that is crucial for a modern defenseman", team manager Pascal Müller states in regards to his future protégé. "He is reliable defensively and can also provide momentum on offense. We see great potential for development in him."
